George Wickens played his part in a historic campaign as Lincoln City FC were crowned champions of Sky Bet League One.
A 2–0 victory away at Doncaster Rovers, secured through a brace from Ben House, confirmed the Imps as title winners and ensured top spot in the division ahead of the final fixtures. The result capped a standout season of consistency and control from Michael Skubala’s side.
Lincoln’s triumph seals promotion to the Championship for the first time since the 1960/61 season, and represents their first title-winning promotion from the third tier since 1951/52—marking a truly historic achievement for the club.
The campaign has been defined by impressive consistency, with 29 wins, 10 draws and just five defeats, ultimately delivering a commanding points total that saw them pull clear at the top of the table.
Head coach Michael Skubala was recognised for his success with the League One Manager of the Season award, while George Wickens’ performances throughout the campaign earned him inclusion in the League One Team of the Season alongside several of his teammates.
It has been a landmark year for Lincoln City, with Wickens contributing to a squad effort that delivered both promotion and the league title.
