Lincoln City Seal Promotion To The Sky Bet Championship

Lincoln City have secured a historic return to the Sky Bet Championship, sealing promotion with an impressive 2–1 victory away at Reading on Easter Monday.

The Imps’ triumph confirms their place in the second tier for the 2026/27 season, marking a long-awaited return after 65 years. Sitting 19 points clear of third-placed Bradford City, promotion has been emphatically achieved with games to spare, underlining the club’s outstanding campaign.

This season has been defined by consistency, resilience, and belief, with Lincoln recording 27 wins, nine draws, and just five defeats to date. Reaching the 90-point mark with five matches still to play, there remains an opportunity to further strengthen what is already a landmark season.

For the club, this achievement represents a significant milestone—securing promotion from the third tier for the first time since the early 1950s—and signals an exciting new chapter ahead in the Championship.
